The Colts and S&Ws usually have better triggers. The pre-lock S&Ws are the most desirable for many people. The S&W 629 stainless is another option.

If yes, you definitely should go with the Redhawk. The Smith just can't handle the hot stuff. I limit mine to mostly basic factory 240 grain loads (which are no slouch).

The smith is a fine handgun and shoots well. I also love my Ruger's, my Redhawk was sent to powers custom shop and had a trigger and action job, and a few other details done to it.
